Who knew at the ripe age of 37 years old, I'd be releasing my first ever single, “The Country Way.” It's so CRAZY to me that little old me from a small town has had the success I've had so far. For years, I led worship faithfully at various churches. This journey started way sooner than this past year though. This has been a journey with a prequel, so to speak. I've been singing for 20+ years. TWENTY PLUS YEARS!! Y'all I'm at the age now that I know adults younger than how long I've been singing lol. I could sit here and say my success attributed thus far is because of “a little southern charm and a lot of hard work," but that would only be partly true. See I had a great mom and dad who instilled great moral principles and character into me at a young age. They taught me to respect people, hold the door open for people behind you, say yes sir and yes ma'am, give up your seat for older people or guests, chivalry, but most importantly, who Jesus is…not was…IS! Though I had my mess ups, this paved the way for me to find an amazing woman who was crazy enough to marry me. With her, I've been blessed to create an amazing family, and God has blessed us with two PERFECT FOR US children.
I could not do what I do without the support of each of them. They drive my success. They're the reason I fight and claw. They're the reason I work late nights. They're the driving force of my writing. It's such a sweet feeling to know your wife, your children, and your parents are your biggest fans. So my job as a musician, an influencer, a husband, a son, a father, a friend, etc. is to help other people learn and understand what the country way is all about. It's more than corn fields and tractors, trucks and dirt roads, beer and barbecues. It's a way of life. It's your neighbor across the street, the stranger you've never met, and the old friend at your local convenience store. It's a heart posture that shows what Jesus taught: Love God…Love People.
